Djangophonique, an award-winning ensemble celebrated for their captivating performances, will bring the vibrant energy of Django Reinhardt’s jazz manouche to Weatherwax Hall on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 8pm. Their music effortlessly blends traditional Hot Club sounds with a modern flair, keeping the spirit of Parisian dance halls and soulful ballads alive.
Known for their lively, joyful performances, Djangophonique’s sound is perfect for both jazz lovers and those new to the genre. Their upbeat rhythms and smooth melodies will make for an unforgettable evening of music.
“Djangophonique’s jazzy sound is easy to love with their playful guitars, smooth clarinet, and sultry vocals,” said Colleen Monahan, the Music on Tap Coordinator at Jackson Symphony Orchestra. “Close your eyes and be transported to the lively jazz lounges of Paris in the 1930’s. Expect to hear echos of jazz greats like Fats Waller and Cole Porter – it’s going to be a swingin’ good time!”
