A Timeless Holiday Tradition for All Ages

The magic of The Nutcracker returns to the Potter Center stage, delighting audiences with a timeless holiday tradition! For the sixth year, Ballet Chelsea’s talented dancers and the Jackson Symphony Orchestra’s live music come together in an enchanting celebration of music and dance. “The Nutcracker with a live orchestra is a special experience,” shared JSO Music Director Matthew Aubin.

Under the direction of Ballet Chelsea’s Artistic Director Michelle Quenon, this year’s production brings a fresh perspective to the beloved classic. Families of all ages will be transported to the magical Kingdom of Sweets in a performance filled with artistry, elegance, and festive charm. “The caliber of Ballet Chelsea dancers is truly amazing,” Aubin added.

There are four shows to choose from, all at the Potter Center on the campus of Jackson College: 7pm on Dec. 13th, 12pm and 5pm on Dec. 14th, and 2pm on Dec. 15th. Tickets range from $17.50 to $35 and are available online at jacksonsymphony.org, by phone at (517) 782-3221, or in person at the JSO box office located at 215 West Michigan Avenue in downtown Jackson.

Tickets to the Sugar Plum Tea, to be held at the Potter Center at noon Sunday, December 15, are $35. The Sugar Plum Tea is a catered tea party with a character meet and greet, fun crafts, treats from the “Land of the Sweets,” professional photos and more. Space is limited.
