High Honors for JSO Piano Student!
JSO CMS piano student Phoebe VanHeyningen has been awarded the highest score in her level at the Capital Area Music Teachers Association’s Student Achievement Testing held on March 9, 2013 at MSU. In the Student Achievement Testing, students are evaluated on performance, written theory, aural awareness and sight reading. As a result of her high score, Phoebe has been invited to perform in the SAT Honors Recital which features the students who received the highest scores in their respective levels. The recital will be on March 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Okemos.
Phoebe is the daughter of Shawn Corlew-VanHeyningen and Ralph VanHeyningen. A nine-year-old fourth-grader at Paragon, Phoebe is in her third year of piano study with Joanne Miller at the Jackson Symphony.
